The house was a self-build project in a small village in Hertfordshire. It was designed to demonstrate that architecturally interesting projects do not have to cost a fortune.

The living spaces are placed on the first floor forming a large open volume incorporating the roof space. This strategy provides a sociable space taking full advantage of the views over open countryside. Downstairs are the bedrooms whose cellular arrangement supports the floor above.
