A typical 1960’s house had been compromised by the addition of a loft extension which resulted in an extremely cramped entrance hall and difficult access to the reception rooms which were also rather small for the extended size of the house.

Two extensions, one to the garden and one to the front of the house restore the balance of the house, giving a generous light filled entrance and a sequence of rooms focussed on the garden which was restructured including a terrace adjacent to the house and an outdoor room formed by a cantilevered pergola in the sunniest spot in the garden.
